Two Birds Lacquer - Childhood Treats Collection {Swatches & Reviews}

Hello!

Today I have some swatches to show you from a brand new Aussie Indie brand, Two Birds Lacquer.

Two Birds Lacquer was created by a lovely lady named Stacey, who hand blends all her 3 free lacquers in Perth, WA. Her first collection, the Childhood Treats collection, was inspired by all the yummy lollies from her childhood.

The first shade I have to show you is called Fairy Bread, and it is a perfect depiction of its inspiration!

Fairy Bread has a nice butter yellow crelly (creme cross jelly) base with tiny gold holo glitter and multi-coloured hex and square glitter in various sizes. The formula is great and easy to work with but requires three thin coats to become fully opaque. This polish has a good amount of glitter which creates a nice glitter coverage on the nails.

The photo below shows three thin coats of Fairy Bread with topcoat.

Grape Nerds (yum!) has a gorgeous dusty lilac purple crelly base filled with various purple and pink glitters. The formula is good and easy to work with; like Fairy Bread it requires three thin coats to become fully opaque. The bigger glitters in this polish are a little bit sparser and could take a little bit of fishing for if you want more glitter coverage on your nails.

Mulberry Jam has a nice berry pink jelly base with tiny iridescent blue and gold glitter and small/medium blue, orange, pink and white hexes and squares. Like all these polish the formula was really easy to work with and has a great consistency. This polish also took three thin coats to become fully opaque and this glitter is a little sparse, but I think that is just the look of the polish.

Spearmint Leaves has lime green crelly base with loads of shimmer, tiny black, green and white hexes and white and green micro bar glitter. This polish is super unique and not a colour I'd usually go for, but I when i put it on my nails I instantly loved it! The shimmer just shows up beautifully on the nails. The formula was great and easy to work with (that seems to becoming a theme with these polishes!) and glitter coverage is good. Three thin coats is needed for it to become fully opaque.

White Knight has a blackened dark blue jelly base and is packed with medium black, silver and blue metallic hex glitter and some tiny blue hexes too. This polish is so stunning on the nails and is my favourite from the collection! The formula is nice, easy to work with (could you guess?) and glitter coverage is great. I love the depth in the jelly that three thin coats creates.

Last but certainly not least we have Aniseed Rings, a beautiful black jelly base with a slight holo shimmer and tiny iridescent glitters that shine blue, green, gold and copper. This polish comes to life on the nails and the iridescent glitters look amazing in the light. Great formula, easy to work with and even glitter coverage. This polish only required two coats to become opaque.

This is a great first collection from Two Bird Lacquer and I'm sure there will be more amazing polishes to come from this up and coming Aussie indie brand!
